How It Works

Premixed concrete bags (Quikrete, Sakrete) yield approximately: 40-lb bag = 0.30 cu ft, 60-lb bag = 0.45 cu ft, 80-lb bag = 0.60 cu ft. For projects over 1 cubic yard (about 45 eighty-lb bags), ready-mix delivery is usually more cost-effective and faster. One cubic yard of mixed concrete weighs about 4,050 lbs. Always mix on a hard surface and add water gradually as too much water weakens the final product.
