How It Works

Concrete reaches about 65% of its design strength in 7 days and 99% in 28 days. Temperature is the biggest factor: below 50F, curing slows dramatically and below 40F it nearly stops. High-early strength mixes (Type III cement) reach 65% strength in 3 days. Keep new concrete moist for at least 7 days by covering with plastic or using curing compound. Never pour on frozen ground or when temperatures will drop below 25F within 24 hours.
