How It Works

Stone veneer comes in two types: manufactured (concrete cast to look like stone, 8-12 lbs/sq ft) and natural thin-cut (real stone sliced to 1 inch thick, 12-18 lbs/sq ft). Corners are sold by the linear foot and cost 2-3x more than flat pieces per unit. A metal lath and scratch coat is required over wood-framed walls. Over concrete or CMU, you can apply directly with thinset. Leave 1/2 inch joints and grout with a grout bag for a clean finish.
