How It Works

Always buy 10% extra tiles for straight lay patterns and 15% for diagonal or herringbone due to increased cuts. Keep leftover tiles for future repairs. Tile is sold by the box (covering 10-15 sq ft per box for standard sizes). Use large-format tiles (12x24, 24x24) for fewer grout lines and a modern look. Substrate must be flat within 1/8 inch per 10 feet for large tiles. Use a 1/4 x 3/8 inch notched trowel for 12x12 and a 1/2 x 1/2 inch for larger tiles.
